Piedmont Seniors

Founded in 1996 and sponsored by the Recreation Department, Piedmont Seniors is always seeking new members to socialize, meet for fun, and build friendships.

The group meets on a monthly basis, usually on the fourth Wednesday of each month, from 10:00 am –12:00 pm, at the Piedmont Community Hall, located at 711 Highland Avenue in Piedmont Park.

Meetings typically begin with refreshments and include guest speakers, presentations, and/or special events, and sometimes followed by a complimentary movie or informal games.

The Piedmont Seniors also go on monthly excursions to locations of interest throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Previous excursions have included visits to local museums, historic homes, live theater, ballet, and picturesque towns.

All ages are welcome and do not need to be Piedmont residents to join. For further information and to request a current newsletter, email Janet Epstein.

Mindfulness Meditation with Mark Herrick

Meditation provides a sense of calm, peace, and balance that benefits emotional well-being and overall health. If stress has you anxious, tense, and worried, consider trying meditation. Spending a few minutes meditating restores calm and inner peace and is simple, inexpensive and doesn't require any special equipment.
Meditation is to your mind what exercise is to your body, building four mental muscles: Concentration, Clarity, Friendliness and Equanimity. We will introduce five kinds of meditation in a safe and supportive environment, so each participant can become comfortable meditating at home.

Wednesdays from 9:00–10:00 am | 801 Magnolia Avenue (Main Hall)
