Permitted Commercial Uses
This initiative will update Piedmont's Zoning Code to streamline the permitting process for new businesses in existing commercial and mixed-use zones. This includes:
- establishing a list of commercial uses that would be permitted by-right (without a public hearing)
- establishing performance standards for permitted uses that ensure compatibility with the surrounding neighborhood, such as hours of operation or restrictions on goods that may be sold
- updating procedures for conditional use permits for businesses that require them
