March 5, 2024 Special Municipal Election
The City Council has placed a renewal of the City’s Municipal Services Special Tax ("City Services Tax") on the March 2024 ballot. This election will be consolidated with the statewide Presidential Primary Election.
Measure F - Municipal Services Special Tax ("City Services Tax") Renewal
The City Services Tax provides approximately 7% of the City's general fund budget. This tax was first passed by Piedmont voters in 1981 and has been renewed 10 times.
The City Services Tax is levied against all improved lots in the city, with a rate based upon the use, and in most cases, parcel size. The current tax, approved by the voters in 2020, expires on June 30, 2025.
Measure F would renew the City Services Tax for 12 years and increase the rate by 20% — an additional $11-19/month for most households.

"The continued need for the Parcel Tax is demonstrated from the Committee's review of the City's recently provided ten-year General Fund financial projections and the City's facilities maintenance needs."
