The next election is November 5, 2024. Your ballot will include national, state, and local elections.

Members of the City Council and PUSD Board of Education are elected at-large (the City is not divided into districts). Terms are 4 years, with a maximum of 2 consecutive terms.

Piedmont's mayor is selected by the members of the City Council.

About

The City Clerk is the City Elections Official for Piedmont voters and candidates. They are responsible for:

  • General municipal and special elections
  • Petitions for initiatives, recalls, and referenda
  • Candidate and nomination process
  • Election notices
  • Resolution for canvass and certification of the results
  • Oath of Office for elected officials

The Alameda County Registrar of Voters prepares and mails the ballot, registers voters, and tabulates the results.

The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) is a state agency responsible for campaign finance rules and enforcement.

The California Secretary of State manages voter registration.
