COP & PUSD Employees: If you are employed with the City of Piedmont or Piedmont Unified School District, and your child is participating in a PRD program, please contact PRD during office hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm) to review your account settings prior to registration.
Schoolmates Program Descriptions
Please review the following extended care options PRD provides during the school year.
Schoolmates (Grades TK–5)
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 3:00–6:00 pm ; Wednesdays 1:45–6:00 pm
Schoolmates is a play based program that provides after-school care for elementary school-aged children (TK–5th Grades) during the academic school year. At Schoolmates, children learn teamwork and cooperation, while developing intellectually, physically, and creatively through structured recreational and educational activities.
SM Konnex (Grade TK–5)
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 2:00–3:00 pm (program does not meet on Wednesdays)
SM Konnex is a one-hour play based program specifically designed for children who are released from school at 2:00 pm. This program meets from 2:00–3:00 pm.
Program Note: At the time of online registration, all entries for SM Konnex will be automatically placed on a waitlist. PRD staff will enroll and prioritize students based on Schoolmates/Minimates enrollment, in timestamp order.
PRD staff will confirm via email, your child's enrollment in SM Konnex. Please make sure that you have a stored payment option on file to complete the transaction (
see Program Hours & Tuition Payments tile for details). Failure to do so may result in not securing a spot at SM Konnex.
Schoolmates / SM Konnex programs are located at each of the three elementary schools in Piedmont: Beach, Havens, and Wildwood.
Minimates (Grade TK: Must be registered for PUSD TK program)
SUNRISE: MORNING MINIMATES (for PM TK Students): 8:30 am–TK Class Start
SUNSET: AFTERNOON MINIMATES (for AM TK Students): TK Class Release–2:00 pm (1:45 pm on Wednesdays)
PRD's Minimates program is designed specifically for PUSD transitional kindergarten (TK) students. At Minimates, TK students will continue to learn, grow, and have fun through age-appropriate games, crafts, and sports led by PRD's experienced Schoolmates staff. Throughout the year, we'll have creative themes and activities that keep kids engaged and having fun, while they they continue to make friends, learn, and adjust to their school day schedule.
Please note that the Minimates afternoon programs end promptly at 2:00 pm. If you are in need of extend care beyond 2:00 pm, please read program notes in the SM Konnex section.
Minimates is located at Havens and Beach Elementary.
